We appreciate your interest in donating a gift-in-kind to Jacksonville University. Acceptance of any in-kind contribution is at the discretion of the Gift-in-Kind Acceptance Committee. The university will not accept a gift-in-kind unless the following conditions have been met: 1. The item can be utilized to benefit the University staff, faculty, or students. Or the item can be used in support of a fundraising event. 2. The value of the gift exceeds the cost of maintaining, storing, disposing of, or selling the gift. 3. The donor is financing the transfer costs, including delivery, packing, or shipping. If this is not the case, the department accepting the item acknowledges the costs and agrees to accept the costs. 4. The donor has completed the form below. Upon receipt of an approved item, Jacksonville University will send a letter of acknowledgment that includes a description of item(s) donated and the date of donation. We do not include a value for the donated item(s) in the letter, per IRS regulations. However, you will be recognized for the amount of the donation in our records. If the value of the donated item(s) exceeds $5,000.00 a qualified appraisal may be required along with the tax Form 8283. Please consult with a tax advisor if you have questions regarding the deductibility of your donation.
If no details are provided the University reserves the right to dispose of or sell a gifted item if future circumstances result in one of these options being determined the most appropriate.
Upload any documentation to substantiate the value of your proposed donation (receipt, similar items with price listing, picture of item, appraisal if $5,000 or more, invoice, etc.)
